Are You Addicted to Your SmartPhone?

Let’s face it. We’re all at least partially addicted to our electronic devices.

Nearly every day, I see clients who have trouble putting their phone down –- and not glancing at it whenever our session lulls.

I attend a weekly 90-minute networking group and at least 25% of the members are constantly answering text messages or responding to emails when they should be paying attention to the speaker.

According to a new book, “Irresistible: The Rise of Addictive Technology and the Business of Keeping Us Hooked”, social psychologist Adam Alter says that most of us are literally addicted to modern digital products.

He says that “people are spending nearly three hours a day tethered to their cell phones… teenage boys spend weeks alone in their rooms playing video games… and Snapchat will boast that its youthful users open the app more than 18 times a day.”

In fact, a study in 2011 suggested that 41% of us have at least one electronic addiction –– and that was six years ago!

As a certified hypnotherapist that helps people “Let it go” and get back to their real lives, I can help you break your electronic addiction, as well as breaking other habits such as cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or overeating.

It typically takes as little as three hypnotherapy sessions in my Union Street San Francisco office or by phone.
